Growing Greens in Pots – Purple Top White Globe Turnip

Turnip greens are young leaves, bigger than baby plants. Plus they increase the yield significantly. Purple Top Turnip greens are fast and easy to grow. We chose to do some tests on pots outside to take advantage of sunlight while protecting the plants from deer, rabbits, etc. Below are our test records.

What we used:

• One City Picker self watering pot (any shallow pot will do. Just remember to keep soil moist and water 2-3 times a day).
• Full sun (6 hours or more sunlight every day)
• Peat moss, coconut coir, etc. sterilized growing medium are all good for micro greens. We stir fry our micro greens so we didn’t sterilize the potting mix.
• 3 grams of seeds–this is what we offered in our Amazon store. Let’s see what we’ll harvest from 3 grams of seeds.
• Seeds Depth: 1/4-1/2″, seeds Spacing: 1″, thin to 4-6″, row distance: 18-24″. Germination Temperature: 45-85 degrees Fahrenheit

Started harvest at day 20 (about 5″-7″). Will keep harvesting until “Thin to 4-6”. Can’t wait to harvest turnips at day 40!
