The Black Beauty eggplant is an excellent choice for dishes like eggplant parmesan or stuffed eggplant. This variety matures in 74 days and thrives in USDA grow zones 5 to 12. It prefers moist soil, full sun, and temperatures of at least 55°F. While technically a perennial, it is often grown as an annual.

To start, sow seeds indoors. Make a hole about half an inch deep in each pot or tray, plant two seeds per hole, and lightly cover them. Place the pots in a sunny window. Keep the soil moist, as eggplants require consistent moisture to grow well. When the seedlings develop two sets of leaves, thin them by cutting the weaker plant at soil level.

Transplant seedlings outdoors when they are at least six inches tall, and the weather is warm. After transplanting, water the plants daily to maintain moist soil. Since the Black Beauty’s fruits can grow heavy, consider using a post, pole, or other support for added stability.

Harvest the eggplants when the globes appear glossy. Simply snip them off the vine to enjoy their rich flavor in your favorite recipes.

We will use #10 envelopes to mail free items via USPS to the US fifty states only. Envelopes will be mailed as letters– no tracking available. We will email the shipping confirmation when the order is shipped.  We are located in the Chicago suburb so if you don’t receive the item in 7-10 days (depending on where you live) after the order is shipped, please place a new order and mention in the comment box that the first order is missing.

1. Scroll up to the top of this page, click “add to cart,” then go to your shopping cart by clicking the little cart icon on the top right corner of the page.

2. Click “proceed to check out.” The next page is the “Billing Details” page. You will need to enter name, address, phone number, and email address.

3. Last step is to click “Place Order” on the right side of your name and address. You will receive one maybe two email confirmation/invoice from Amy’s Store LLC (amy@amyestore.com) so you know the order is received. Please check the “promotions” tab if you use gmail because my test order confirmation email went there. 

Usage of information collected

We ONLY use your information provided in the order to ship the free item to you. We won’t call you (the phone number is a required field built-in with the website and we don’t know how to disable it. It’s not required to get the free item. You can enter 123-456-7890 if you like).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recipient agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Donor and its directors, officers, trustees, employees and agents from and against any loss, injury, death, damage, liability, claim, deficiency, action, judgment, interest, award, penalty, fine, cost, fees and expenses (including reasonable attorney and professional fees and costs, and the cost of enforcing any right to indemnification hereunder) arising out of, occurring in connection with, or in any way relating to the Products.
