Micro greens are bigger than sprouts and smaller than baby plants and are becoming more popular these days. They can be grown both indoor or outdoor. We chose to do some tests on pots outside– take advantage of sunlight while protecting the plants from deer, rabbits, etc. Below are our test records.
What we need:
- Shallow and wide pots are best for micro greens. We just reuse the flower pots.
- Full sun (5 hours or more sunlight every day)
- Peat moss, coconut coir, etc. sterilized growing medium are all good for micro green. We stir fry our micro greens so we didn’t sterilize the potting mix.
- Seeds. We picked arugula, chrysanthemum greens (also called crown daisy, tonghao, tongho), and sunflower seeds. Plant them densely as shown in the picture.
- Keep soil moist and water 2-3 times a day.
