To create the Petal Flower you’ll use the rounded edge on The Cutting Edge ruler. Please follow the basic cutting instructions available here to get yourself comfortable the ruler….
Once you have learned how to use the ruler follow these instruction to make a petal flower. I ‘m using 1 1/2″ ribbon for this example and cutting the pieces 1 3/4″ long.
Make 5 petal using the round edge on the ruler and straight edge on the V cut side. If you make the petal shorter or linger it will change the look of your flower. Try different lengths to find style you like best.
5 Petals 11/2 inch wide ribbon, 13/4 inch long
1. Sew each petal along the bottom edge with even length stitches.
2. Repeat with the remaining 4 petals.
3. Pull the thread tight and gather the petals tight
4. Sew through the starting end and tie in a knot.
Add a cute center or layer with another size and a clip. And…you are finished.
Make this adorable sheer ribbon flower with The Cutting Edge Ruler
Cut the petals for this flower using the same technique shown for the 5 petal flower, but s shorter length.
The sheer ribbon cuts faster and easier, so this will go much faster.
